What do you want to study and why?
Master’s in agricultural science thus, plant science, agronomy or forestry. And the reason for my study field is because:
From an early age, I have been fascinated by the workings of life. I am very interested in the natural world and enjoy practical science which is one of the main reasons why I read Agriculture science from high school to undergraduate degree level. My love for science is just one of my reasons for choosing plant science. In my undergraduate studies, courses such as crop physiology, biochemistry, plant breeding and genetics, entomology and plant disease control came easy to me but it was plant science that captured my interest.
I would relish the opportunity to study plant science in greater detail and further my learning and enjoyment that I have experienced during my undergraduate study; in areas such as plant microbiology, genetics, and biochemistry.
Where are you from and where do you want to go?
I’m from Ghana, and I like our food and culture.
I want to go anywhere especially the European countries. And this is because I look forward to meeting new people and experience new culture and food but most of all to develop new skills and knowledge to help me focus on the science and technologies in order to meet the goals in agriculture
Bridget wishes to pursue a master abroad and is actually studying at the University of Education, Winneba Ghana

What do you enjoy doing when you have spare time?
My hobbies are watching documentaries, singing and playing badminton
I will be a positive addition to the University Badminton team as I am very skillful at Badminton and have represented my Hall of residence in the Annual Inter Hall games during my time in College.
Is there a personality trait about you that you are proud of?
Yes there is. I am self-motivated, determined, team player and the ability to work under pressure with little supervision.
This is because people I’ve had an encounter with encouraging me and happy to be with me because of these traits.
Also, carrying out various experiments in biochemistry, genetics, pathology and entomology, has allowed me to develop my scientific planning, analysis and evaluation skills whilst I have also learnt about the importance of using resources appropriately and testing hypotheses. In addition, I have developed the ability to work effectively as an individual when drawing conclusions during experiments such as for coursework; or in a group for example, when recording results. I believe all the qualities I have developed through these courses are essential for the study of plant agriculture at the postgraduate level. Plant science has emerged as one of the most important branches of life science. As plant science practically affect all activities of our life such as food, clothing, shelter Studying this course will therefore render me relevant to society.
A message for the higher education institutions
If there is anything you’d like to say to Universities who will see your profile
In Ghana, agricultural productivity will need to be doubled in the next 15-25 years to meet food demand, due to a rapid growth of human populations. This huge challenge requires an increase in food production and how to sustain it. Population growth has increased the rate of land scarcity and water challenge, also changes in climate and declining soil fertility has affected it nutrients components.
As an Agriculture student, studying agricultural science and its related courses will help me develop new skills and knowledge that will help me focus on the science and technologies in order to meet these goals in the farming system.
I would like to contribute to university life, as this will be a new experience and I will look forward to meeting new people. I am a reliable, determined and enthusiastic person who will relish the opportunity to study plant science if I am given the opportunity. I am a self motivated, determined individual and I look forward to the social and academic challenges of undertaking this programme.
If you can go abroad with a friend?
It would be Afia Agyemang- Beniako
We share same goals and passions for our country and our environment, even though she studied Bsc.Environmental health and sanitation.
